Thomas Kaeser turns 70: A life led with passion and wisdom

“My brother is my role model, because he is always level-headed, remains calm, and does not see ‘problems’, just ‘challenges’ to which there is always a solution”. This sentence, written by one of his sisters many years ago in a school essay, neatly sums up Thomas Kaeser’s approach to life. On the 14th of August, he celebrates his 70th birthday. Born the third of seven children, amongst his siblings he learned early on how to negotiate and find solutions: “There were always seven different opinions and seven different perspectives, all of which had to be coordinated in a target-driven manner,” he remembers fondly of his childhood and youth. “That was good training in how to run a company.”

Mobilair M120: Built tough for extreme conditions

Whether for quarrying, mining or blasting applications, the M120 portable compressor is an excellent choice when operating in extreme performance and ambient conditions. Developed particularly with harsh environments in mind, this rugged machine delivers up to 400 cfm (11.3 m³/min) of compressed air. It can run seamlessly on high-sulphur diesel, and continues operating in the green zone even when ambient temperatures reach +50 °C.

Kaeser recently expanded its FBS series of rotary screw blowers with the inclusion of the FBS 720 models. This represents the next milestone in the development of oil-free compression blower technology, designed especially with water industry applications in mind.

Kaeser has just announced the launch of the GBS series which compliments its already well established range of rotary screw blowers. The GBS series sets a new benchmark in compressor technology for the 75 to 160 kW power range, with a flow rate from 22 to 104 m³/min and differential pressures up to 1100 mbar. These machines not only feature exceptional control characteristics, quiet operation, an optimised footprint and low maintenance requirements - but they also deliver consistently high efficiency across the entire control range.

The Sigma Air Manager 4.0 (SAM 4.0) compressed air management system from Kaeser Compressors has been continuously developed and enhanced ever since it was launched in 2001. Some 20 years later and the latest developments are now allowing end users to tap into the future of intelligent control today!
